Working alongside departments, developers turn operational requirements into practical digital services. This can include creating new applications, forms, staff tools, workflows, departmental systems and improvements to existing GovNet functionality.
Development requests are reviewed with the relevant departmental leadership to ensure new functionality has a clear operational purpose and integrates effectively with existing government services.
Government Infrastructure
DIT helps maintain the technical infrastructure required for City Government to operate effectively. This includes government networks, servers, communications systems and the equipment connecting government facilities and employees.
The department also works proactively to identify potential improvements, replace ageing technology and reduce the risk of technical failures affecting government operations.
Supporting City Government
Technology requirements differ considerably between departments. DIT therefore works directly with departmental leadership and employees to understand how technology is being used and where improvements can be made.
This can range from advising a department on new equipment or improving an office network to designing an entirely new digital workflow within GovNet. By providing a central technology service, DIT helps ensure systems remain consistent, supportable and suitable for the wider needs of City Government.
The Department of Information Technology is committed to providing reliable, secure and effective technology across the Los Santos City Government. By combining technical support, hardware operations, infrastructure management and software development, DIT provides the foundation that allows government departments to deliver their services.
As City Government continues to grow, DIT will continue to modernise its infrastructure, develop new digital services and work alongside departments to ensure government technology remains dependable, accessible and prepared for the future.
