About Health & Welfare

The Department of Health & Welfare, under the Los Santos City Government, is the one responsible for promoting the social well-being of the members of our community, through the development of programs that focus on several core issues, such as healthcare, housing, employment and more.

Our programs focus on providing struggling individuals with support and guidance, with the objective of bringing back their lost independence, productivity and/or health, empowering them as human beings and citizens, helping them get their life back on track, overcoming the obstacles they may be facing and finally allowing them to pursue their life goals on their own.

The branches of our Department are Community Development, Sacred Hearts Homeless Shelter, and Children and Families. All of our programs fit under one of these three branches, although all of them work in close collaboration.

Community Development

The Community Development branch focuses on the social and financial issues of individuals. Some programs that are developed under this branch include Affordable Housing, Employment Guidance or the Community Center Program.

Children and Families

The Children and Families branch focuses on the minors of our communities that struggle the most given their vulnerable situations. Some programs that are developed under this branch include the Child Protection Program or the Foster Care/Adoption Program.
