Report an Issue in Your Community

The Department of Public Works provides residents with a platform to report issues within their local community. This allows us to deploy a team promptly to address and rectify the reported problems. Public Works is responsible for various services, including graffiti removal, city infrastructure maintenance, road resurfacing, and landscaping. Please review the criteria and minimum requirements before submitting your request.

Criteria

  • Public Works cannot provide services to private residences. The exception to this is graffiti on an apartment block or motel in hard-to-reach places.
  • Public Works does not provide services to businesses unless the issue involves public infrastructure, such as the sidewalk outside their premises or offensive graffiti in a hard-to-reach place.
  • Public Works do not provide private towing services. We will, however, move abandoned vehicles causing an obstruction on the public highway or blocking an alleyway. We do not tow from private land.
  • Public Works provides landscaping and mowing to parks and public grassed areas only.
  • We provide no guarantee that we'll action your request; however, we will review all requests made to us. We handle requests in priority order depending on their seriousness and technician availability.
  • You must provide as much information as possible, including a location of the issue and, where possible, a photo.
  • Public Works can provide services to government-owned buildings such as law enforcement stations, hospitals etc. These requests can be made here by a responsible person for the agency.

Minimum Requirements

  • If the request is for a business or government building, you must be a supervisor or have approval from the business owner prior to requesting.
  • You confirm that your request complies with the criteria above.

Method of Review

  1. Submit your Request – This is the first stage, notifying us of the issue by completing the relevant form.
  2. Review of Request – Your request will be reviewed by a supervisor. If your request contains the relevant details and meets the requirements, a work task will be raised. Your report may be sent back to you if more information is needed.
  3. Actioned – If your report met the criteria, it will be carried out by our technician team and you'll be notified once completed.

You must be logged in to submit a city service request.
