About the Job Position

The Community Relations Specialist is primarily focused on visual communications and direct community interactions. The role will assist in developing photo and graphical materials necessary for department communications and improve the image of the government as a whole.

The Community Relations Specialist will also help in recording community activities and provide creative contributions to announcements. In addition to visual works, the position requires building relationships with members of the community, and extending support for trust-building initiatives for the government and with members of society. The Community Relations Specialist ensures that society or residents are represented and included, and have a link with the government through approachable, authentic, and creative communications.

The Office of Communications serves as the government's central platform for handling all forms of public information and communication. Our mission at the Office of Communications is to ensure a smooth and reliable flow of communication between our administration and the public we serve. We strive at all costs to maintain the reputation of the government and communicate its initiatives in a positive and accurate manner.

We monitor and control press releases, media content, public announcements, online communications, and community outreach activities. We make sure that all messages shared, whether through traditional or online communications, or even outreach activities with the community, include our core values of integrity, accountability, and service to the public. Through partnerships with the government's departments and with members of the community, the Office of Communications bridges the gap that may exist between government functions and everyday life. Our Office remains committed to modern and transparent communication practices that help the community stay informed, engaged, and connected to the work of the government.

About the Salary & Paygroup

  • The current Community Relations Specialist wage is set at: $60,000 + bonuses.
  • A supportive, consolidated and dynamic team environment.
  • Junior Community Relations Specialists are assigned to Paygrade V.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have attained the age of 21
  • The applicant must have a legal address in the State of San Andreas
  • The applicant may not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor
  • The applicant must possess a current driving license and a reasonable driving record

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • A College or Bachelor's Degree that was supplemented by any of the following fields: journalism, photography, videography.
  • An equivalent level gained through work experience may be considered.
  • The applicant ideally has past experience working on a media coverage team.
  • Experience with any graphics design program is considered a bonus.

Key Skills and Abilities

  • You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of present-day social media and implications of negative press relations.
  • You must display strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must show the ability to effectively engage in social media activities, including video sharing and blogging to promote the City.
  • You exhibit superior critical thinking and analytical skills. 
  • Your organizational abilities enable you to be highly detail-oriented.
