About the Job Position
The Communications Specialist performs core media and information duties for the department. The specialist assists in the writing of press releases, preparation of public statements, announcements, and maintains the presence of the government in communication channels. Working alongside senior staff, the specialist supports and ensures that all outgoing information is accurate, consistent, and meets the mission and image standards set by the government.
This includes writing and editing content for the public, monitoring ongoing media trends, supporting crisis communication efforts, and participating in planning campaigns or outreach initiatives. The Communications Specialist plays a critical role in helping the government communicate with the public by shaping every message to be clear, professional, and reliable.

The Office of Communications serves as the government's central platform for handling all forms of public information and communication. Our mission at the Office of Communications is to ensure a smooth and reliable flow of communication between our administration and the public we serve. We strive at all costs to maintain the reputation of the government and communicate its initiatives in a positive and accurate manner.
We monitor and control press releases, media content, public announcements, online communications, and community outreach activities. We make sure that all messages shared, whether through traditional or online communications, or even outreach activities with the community, include our core values of integrity, accountability, and service to the public. Through partnerships with the government's departments and with members of the community, the Office of Communications bridges the gap that may exist between government functions and everyday life.

About the Salary & Paygroup
- The current Communications Specialist salary is set at: $60,000 + bonuses.
- A supportive, consolidated and dynamic team environment.
- Communications Specialists are assigned to Paygrade V.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- The applicant must have attained the age of 21
- The applicant must have a legal address in the State of San Andreas
- The applicant may not have been convicted of any felonies and/or misdemeanors.
- The applicant must possess a current driving license and a reasonable driving record
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- A College or Bachelor's Degree that was supplemented by any of the following fields: journalism, photography, videography.
- An equivalent level gained through work experience may be considered.
- The applicant ideally has past experience working on a media coverage team.
- Experience with any graphics design program is considered a bonus.
Key Skills and Abilities
- You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of present-day social media and implications of negative press relations.
- You must display strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You must show the ability to effectively engage in social media activities, including video sharing and blogging to promote the City.
- You exhibit superior critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Your organizational abilities enable you to be highly detail-oriented.

Playtime requirements
- You must have at least 40 hours played on GTA World on any character.
- Applicants for Director positions must have at least 100 hours played on any character.
Membership in another faction
The permissions you need depend on whether your faction memberships involve the same character or different characters.
On different characters
- Obtain permission from your current faction and Los Santos City Government.
- Submit a different-character faction permission request. The City Government request is automatically approved, but you must still submit it.
On the same character
- Obtain permission from your current faction.
- Submit a same-character faction permission request. Approval from City Government faction leadership is required.
- Once both factions have approved, obtain permission from Legal Faction Management (LFM).
Character portrayal and application information
- You must be able to portray a City of Los Santos employee accurately and meet the faction’s standards and roleplay expectations.
- Notify the Department of Personnel of any OOC circumstances that require changes to your application, including changes to your character’s backstory or administrative record.
- All screenshots submitted during the application process must be clean and unedited.
- If you select “Other” as your character’s gender, provide the Personnel Specialist handling your application with:
- An explanation of your character’s gender identity.
- Your motivation for roleplaying the character.
