About the Job Position

The Bureau of Safety is an integral part of the San Andreas Port Authority, as it ensures that all apparatus, personnel, and civilians perform their duties in a safe and up-to-standard environment. Furthermore, the Bureau ensures safety throughout the port by employing licensed, armed safety officers who are put through additional in-house training and certification programs. About the Department

The Port of Los Santos is a port of entry managed by the Los Santos Port Authority, a department under the Los Santos City Government. The duty requirements of a Probationary Safety Officer with the Bureau of Safety, as defined above, include:

  • Conducting safety patrols, ensuring port rules and regulations are followed and enforced.
  • Performing health and safety inspections on internal and external organisations.
  • Engaging with port visitors, contractors, organisation members and the general public via security checkpoints, ensuring proper credentials and paperwork is presented before entry to the port is granted.

About the Salary & Paygroup

  • The current Probationarty Safety Officer wage is set at: $45,000 + bonuses.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have attained the age of 21
  • The applicant must have a legal address in the State of San Andreas
  • The applicant may not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor
  • The applicant must possess a current driving license and a reasonable driving record
  • Ability to maintain activity and up-to-date posting with the Bureau of Safety Leadership in regards to regularly assigned tasks and duties.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) and 1 to less than 3 years directly related experience
  • Prior experience in safety, operations, or a related industry. is desired but no previous work experience is required. The applicant receives on-the-job training
  • The applicant is expected to be in good physical condition and have the ability to carry out manual labour
  • A thorough understanding of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and other relevant maritime safety regulations is crucial to the role.

Key Skills and Abilities

  • The ability to investigate incidents, analyze safety data, and identify areas for improvement is essential.
  • Strong communication skills are needed to coordinate with different departments and external agencies.
  • The ability to lead safety drills (e.g., fire, abandon ship) and oversee safety procedures is important.
  • Collaborating with internal departments and external contractors and organisations to ensure they adhere to safety protocols.
