About the Job Position

A Paralegal works under the direct supervision of the Deputy City Attorneys to support the City Attorney in delivering effective legal services to the Mayor, City Council, and City Departments. A Paralegal is responsible for conducting legal research, preparing drafts of ordinances, resolutions, and contracts, organizing case files, and assisting with trial and hearing preparation.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring the efficiency of the City Attorney’s Office by maintaining accurate records, handling document production, and supporting attorneys in their efforts to safeguard the City’s legal interests.

About the Department

The City Attorney’s Office, operates under the Office of the Mayor. It serves as the primary source of legal counsel for the Mayor, City Council, and all city departments, ensuring that every action, ordinance, and policy is consistent with federal, state, and municipal law.

The Office’s responsibilities extend across all areas of city governance, from reviewing and drafting contracts, ordinances, and resolutions, to advising on labor, land use, and regulatory matters. The Office also represents the City in litigation and administrative proceedings. Its mission is to safeguard the City’s legal interests while promoting effective, lawful, and transparent governance.

About the Salary & Paygroup

  • The current Paralegal wage is set at: $60,000 + bonuses.
  • A supportive, consolidated and dynamic team environment.
  • Paralegals are assigned to Paygrade V.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have attained the age of 21
  • The applicant must have a legal address in the State of San Andreas
  • The applicant may not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor
  • The applicant must possess a current driving license and a reasonable driving record
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a paralegal certificate from an accredited program or equivalent education/experience.,
  • At least 2 years of experience in a paralegal or legal support role.
  • Prior experience in municipal, government, or public sector law.,
  • Knowledge of legal research tools and techniques.,
  • Familiarity with drafting and reviewing contracts, ordinances, and resolutions.
