About the Job Position

As the Director of Cultural Affairs, you are the primary representative for the Department of Cultural Affairs. Together with the Deputy Director, who works directly under your supervision, you will be tasked with shaping, implementing and upholding a fresh and creative vision for the department. You'll be responsible for supervising the department, supporting the welfare of the team and supporting in tasks where necessary.

You'll also be required to update personnel records and manuals to ensure all records remain up to date. From time to time you may be required to assist with recruitment and in the field where required. You'll attend and host meetings within the department and with external agencies where required. You'll support with the monthly meeting, providing statistics and department updates to our teams. You'll be required to review award requests and request bonus requests for employees going above and beyond. Furthermore, you will be responsible for drafting ideas for a restructure/rebrand for the department alongside the Deputy Director.

You are also the first line of contact for both the City Operations Officer and Deputy City Operations Officer, and will be expected to attend monthly Board of Directors meetings in regards to situation reports.

The Department of Cultural Affairs' main area of activity is the development of culture and cultural education in the Los Santos metropolitan area. With an especially strong focus on young and up-and-coming artists, the Department breathes life into the cultural scene of Los Santos, supporting literature, performing arts and visual arts whilst raising public awareness regarding art, its history - including art's continuous effect on Los Santos - and how it influenced our methods of interpersonal communication.

About the Salary & Paygroup

  • The current Director of Cultural Affairs wage is set at: $100,000 + bonuses.
  • A supportive, consolidated and dynamic team environment.
  • Department / Office Directors are assigned to Paygrade XIII.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have attained the age of 30.
  • The applicant must have a legal address in the State of San Andreas.
  • The applicant may not have been convicted of any felonies and/or misdemeanors.
  • The applicant must possess a current driving license and a reasonable driving record.
  • Computer systems, interfaces, and data warehousing.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of increasingly responsible administrative and supervisory experience.
  • Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Sociology or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of directly related experience to work that is grounded in cultural significance.

Essential Duties
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the Department of Cultural Affairs, ensuring effective management of cultural programs, event permits, and departmental operations.
  • Liaise with other City Government departments and external agencies to foster collaboration, partnerships, and community engagement.
  • Develop and implement long-term cultural strategies and initiatives that promote diversity, heritage, and creative expression within the city.
  • Oversee the evaluation and reporting of cultural programs and events, ensuring accountability, transparency, and alignment with the City’s cultural objectives.
  • Supervise and process public Cultural Grant and Recognition Program requests, allocating funding to residents and organizations proposing meaningful cultural initiatives.

  • Must have a minimum of 40 hours within GTAW on any character.
  • For Director positions, a minimum of 100 hours within GTAW on any character is required.
  • If part of another faction on different characters, you must obtain permission from both your current faction and Los Santos City Government.

  • If part of another faction on the same character, you must obtain permission from both factions to apply.

  • After both factions approve the request, permission must also be obtained from Legal Faction Management (LFM) HERE.
