Personal Medical License (PML)

A Personal Medical License (PML) is required for anyone wishing to practice medicine in their established field while adhering to the high standards set out in the Medical Licensing and Regulation Act . The Los Santos County Medical Board oversees these licenses to ensure that patients receive safe, consistent and professional healthcare.

How do I get a Personal Medical License?

As an individual, you cannot apply for a PML directly. Applications must be made on your behalf either by:

  • A business owner who holds a valid Medical Business License (MBL); or
  • An approved medical facility leader who holds a valid Medical Facility Permit (MFP).

If you are a business owner: go to your business page on GovNet and request a new PML to be issued to the relevant employee. A fee is payable for each license issued.

If you are a facility leader: go to your facility page and request a new PML for the member of staff who requires it. A fee is payable for each license issued.

How much does a PML cost?

Each Personal Medical License currently costs $25,000. This fee is paid by the business owner or facility leader when submitting the request.

How does the licensing system work?

The Los Santos County Medical Board is the regulatory agency for all agencies, businesses and practices that provide facility-based medical care. The Board may investigate, revoke or temporarily suspend any:

  • PML – Personal Medical License
  • MBL – Medical Business License
  • MFP – Medical Facility Permit

Licensing Options

  • MBL – Medical Business License
Issued to all businesses and private practices that provide medical services, whether for profit or non-profit.
  • MFP – Medical Facility Permit
Issued to medical facilities and factions providing facility-based medical care.
  • PML – Personal Medical License
Issued to individual practitioners who are registered to an active MBL or MFP.

Licensing Steps

  1. Agency/Business Registration
All medical-based agencies, businesses and practices must be registered with the Los Santos County Medical Board and hold an MBL or MFP.
  2. Employee Registration
Employees are registered by the owner or leader of the licensed business or facility, who requests PMLs for their staff via GovNet.
  3. Maintaining Validity
Employees must remain employed at a registered agency, business or facility to keep their PML valid. If employment ends, the PML may be revoked or suspended.

Who can request a PML?

Personal Medical Licenses are requested by business owners or facility leaders only. If you are an employee, please speak to your practice owner or facility leadership about obtaining a license.

Where do I manage licenses?

All medical licenses are managed through GovNet on the relevant Business or Facility page. If you are unsure where to start, contact Pillbox Hill Medical Center for guidance.
