About the Job Position

The position renders assistance to the City Treasurer in carrying out their responsibilities for fiscal and monetary management of City resources, investment of non-pension funds of the City, and management of the bonded debt programs for all City Departments. Moreover, the Assistant City Treasurer shall act for the City Treasurer in their absence.

 

The Assistant City Treasurer will exercise considerable independent judgment in executing and managing the essential day-to-day financial activities of the City, requiring extensive knowledge of procedures, regulations, and best practices related to fiscal management, investments, and debt management.

 

The Assistant Treasurer will work regularly with a variety of computer applications including, but not limited to, banking software, accounting systems, payment systems, and investment analytics and execution. The Assistant City Treasurer will have direct supervisory responsibility for clerical and professional employees assigned to the Treasurer's Office and will work extensively with members of other City departments and outside professionals. 

About the Department

The City Treasurer acts as the banker, investor, and curator of municipal funds. The City Treasurer's office is responsible for servicing all finances of the municipality through the coordination of the activity of the Department of Finance and its auxiliary bureaus. Moreover, it provides advice regarding adjustments of fiscal policy and feasibility of city development and social programs.

About the Salary & Paygroup

  • The current Assistant City Treasurer wage is set at: $95,000 + bonuses.
  • A supportive, consolidated and dynamic team environment.
  • Assistant City Treasurers are assigned to Paygrade XII.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have attained the age of 21
  • The applicant must have a legal address in the State of San Andreas
  • The applicant may not have been convicted of any felonies and/or misdemeanors.
  • The applicant must posses a current driving license and a reasonable driving record

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.

  • Five years of progressive experience in municipal or government accounting, finance, and budgeting or a related area.
