Mayor Hank Preston

Hank Preston is the 43rd Mayor of Los Santos, elected on September 9th, 2023, and sworn in the following day at City Hall. His career began over thirty years ago, at the Port of Los Santos as a forklift and crane operator, before finding his place as Director of Port Authority, and eventually the Mayor of Los Santos.

Deputy Mayor Frederick Coleman

As the first black Deputy Mayor of Los Santos, Coleman has put a focus on diversity and holding the Government to account; his past expertise as the Deputy Mayor for Liberty City and a private career in the technology sector puts him in an extraordinary position to implement a vast reform of government platforms and usher in a new age of transparency.

CITY CONTRACTS

The Mayor is responsible for developing and enhancing entrepreneurial and infrastructure opportunities in the city, which includes establishing plans for waste management, construction, and maintenance for the City, as well as promoting access to funding, and resources for aspiring small businesses. These initiatives enable the growth and sustainability of startups and small businesses, contributing to economic development and job creation while enhancing the day-to-day life of residents.

CITY COUNCIL

As head of the Government, the Mayor serves as President of the City Council. In his duties, he ensures that the voices of residents are heard at the legislative level, and are fairly represented with the support of their local District Representative/Councilor.

This includes actively engaging with residents, listening to their needs, and advocating for policies and initiatives that reflect the best interests of our diverse community. Through transparent and inclusive governance, the mayor plays a pivotal role in forming an agenda for the City Council that truly represents the aspirations and values of the people of Los Santos.

The Office of the Mayor offers a grant specifically for small businesses within the City and Los Santos County, focusing on startups, expansions, and recovery efforts. KEY TO THE CITY

The Key to The City Award is a prestigious honor bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate extraordinary heroism, great community leadership, and outstanding philanthropic efforts. This exclusive award is presented at maximum four times a year, recognizing those whose contributions have made a significant impact on the community. Recipients are celebrated for their actions that improve or help the lives of others, symbolizing the city’s gratitude and appreciation for their remarkable achievements.

CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION

The Certificate of Recognition is a heartfelt acknowledgment of community members who have made significant contributions across various fields, including business, public service, heroism, journalism, the arts, philanthropy leadership, and other common fields. This award celebrates the dedication and impact of individuals whose efforts uplift and inspire others. DEPUTY'S HONORS CERTIFICATE

This award honors companies which  actively contribute to environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic growth within the community. By celebrating these forward-thinking enterprises, the Green Business Award aims to inspire others to adopt eco-friendly initiatives and foster a more sustainable future for all.

GOOD SAMARITAN AWARD

The Good Samaritan Award recognizes individuals who selflessly assist others in times of need. Celebrating acts of kindness and bravery, this award highlights the impact of compassion and encourages a culture of caring within the community.

CHANGEMAKERS PROGRAM CERTIFICATE

The Changemakers Program Certificate is a non-credit certificate which honors students who have actively participated in, engaged with, and learned about the 2030 Agenda and various sustainable practices promoted by the Los Santos City Government.
