City Council
General Information
The City Council serves as the legislative backbone of the city, operating within a Mayor-Council government model. Comprising five District Representatives and the Mayor as the Council President, the Council is tasked with enacting ordinances, launching programs, and managing budgets to shape the city's future. Each District Representative ensures that the diverse needs of the North, West, Central, South, and County districts are heard and addressed, focusing on a collaborative approach to municipal governance.

Working alongside the City Council is the executive branch, led by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and supported by the City Operations Officer. This branch is responsible for the administration and governance of Los Santos, providing leadership and ensuring that the city operates efficiently and in alignment with the Council's legislative directives. Together, these two branches ensure legislative authority and executive responsibility to maintain a thriving, well-managed city.
The City Council tackles a broad range of issues, including municipal and county-level concerns, drafting ordinances, setting fees and fines, and overseeing programs and contracts. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in approving the municipal budget, which allocates funds to all city departments, agencies, and offices. Through its work, the City Council ensures that each district’s unique needs are met while supporting the broader growth and prosperity of the City and County of Los Santos.
