Haven Homes
General Information
The Haven Homes buildings serve as dedicated housing for the youth of our child welfare programs and act as the headquarters for the city's Child Protective Services unit, all under the Department of Health and Welfare. Haven Homes was designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youth who have been abandoned, orphaned, facing homelessness, or have gone through a rough patch in their lives. The Child Protective Services staff understands the unique challenges these youth in need face and is committed to helping them survive and thrive. The idea of Haven Homes was born from the Department of Health and Welfare's Second Chance Youth Parole and Adoption and Foster Care programs. Both are vital initiatives designed to provide better futures for young people in need.

Our youth welfare programs offer comprehensive support, including housing, access to essential resources like food and clothing, and educational assistance such as school enrollment, further education guidance, and life skills events to prepare youth for their future. We also ensure that all youth have access to medical and mental health care, emotional support, and opportunities for personal growth and development through engaging activities and planned events.
Haven Homes takes an extended approach. We go beyond meeting the basic needs of the youth in our programs to foster an environment where young people can rebuild their lives with hope. We strive to empower all the youth under our care to build a better tomorrow.
