Meet Director Watson
Hi, I'm Sarah Watson, I'm the Director of Public Works and my main goal is to keep the streets running for all of our citizens. Having worked in the Los Santos Police Department for over twenty years, the majority of that in traffic, I've become accustomed to the streets, where problems arise and the best way to deal with them. I've worked my way up from the bottom and have been in both the Parking Enforcement and Technician Bureau teams which helped me develop new processes and work flows to ensure that we're working at our peak efficiency. Public Works is very much so the flagship department of Los Santos City Government and is seen daily carrying out tasks with partnership agencies but equally maintenance tasks that benefit all. I'd say that I'm a democratic leader, I communicate with all of my staff to ensure the decisions we make don't negatively affect the rest of the team.
Meet Deputy Director Mendosa
Hello, I'm Jake Mendosa. Director Watson, and I have been acting in the position for the last 2 months. Prior to moving to Los Santos, I resided in Queensland, Australia, where I was responsible for the maintenance, and incident response services of the state controlled roads within a local government area. I joined the department in April 2024, where I started out as a Junior Technician, bringing my knowledge of maintenance to the team. I climbed the ranks within the Technician Bureau where I ended up as Head Technician for a length of time, responsible for the Technician Bureau as a whole. Since stepping into the director role, I am currently in the process of finalising a city wide inspection for signage defects for our Technician Bureau to rectify, as well as finalising our certifications, which will give our teams the knowledge and skillset to continue making our city a better place.
Technician Bureau
The technician bureau is primarily responsible for managing the city's infrastructure, you'll typically find them performing a range of tasks such as:
- Vehicle fleet maintenance and assistance.
- Repairing damaged roadways.
- Hydrant maintenance.
- Electric/hydro infrastructure work.
Services
Offering service requests allows the public to alert the technician bureau to issues such as graffiti, damaged water pipes, abandoned vehicles, etc. Find the link to submit a service request on the sidebar.
Transparency
The technician bureau ensures that the public is informed and kept up-to-date if any maintenance they are enacting could hinder day-to-day life. This is achieved through straight-forward means, such as public service announcements and advertisements.
Parking Enforcement Bureau
The parking enforcement bureau is responsible for enforcing parking compliance, you'll find parking inspectors usually performing the below duties:
- Issuing citations for non-compliance.
- Managing parking overflow at large-scale events.
- Enforcing temporary no-parking zones.
- Educating the public on parking laws and regulation.
Services
Through citation information requests, individuals can obtain details about actions taken against their vehicle, this is in place to assist them in appealing said actions in Traffic Court, ensuring fairness in the system. Find the link to submit a citation information request in the sidebar.
Transparency
The Parking Enforcement bureau are open to engaging directly with individuals rather than issuing instant citations, especially if the person becomes available to discuss the issues. Community engagement is, and always will be, a core value that the team dedicates itself to.
