Department of Cultural Affairs

General Information

The Department of Cultural Affairs' primary goal and responsibility is to carry out the upholding and promotion of the ever-growing heritage that encompasses and makes Los Santos what it is today. Whether it's through initiatives being created to protect, or cultural events and programs which recognise, experience, and celebrate the diversity and creative freedom of the various different communities in which they serve.

When it comes to the duties and responsibilities when serving as a Cultural Ambassador within the Department of Cultural Affairs, they are second to none. Cultural Ambassadors are required to carry out events and workshops which involve, and celebrate, cultural partners and a wide array of artists, both local and beyond, with a strengthened focus on those that are up-and-coming in the scene. Furthermore, members of the Department of Cultural Affairs are forever studying worldwide trends, as a means to bring consistent representation, recognition, and respect to all cultures, whilst promoting them accordingly all at the same time, be it in media or public view. As part of the department you'd be tasked to assist in the following duties:

  • Event Management

Creating celebrations that are dedicated to the recognition of the cultural partners of Los Santos, and all of the talent it holds.

  • Cultural Protections

Maintaining the galleries and museums across the city, with a notable focus on the ones present inside City Hall.

In order to better educate the residents of Los Santos about cultural history, and strengthen their receptibility to this information, the Department of Cultural Affairs oversee the galleries and museums across the city. They are always available should members of the general public - both visitor and resident - have any questions, queries, and more, interpersonal communication has evolved over the years thanks to these moments in time and history, and we'd like to educate on as much.

Another way in which the Department of Cultural Affairs works to advance the impact that these artists and other individuals have on the betterment of the city is through grant-making and cultural recognitions which are awarded in the form of financial support, plaques and public acknowledgement. They will always do their part to create, and maintain, a high level of partnership with local businesses and local artists in order to keep up with the ever-growing changes and demands that the city undergoes throughout the years. They will also carry out surveys as a means to see if they have any problem areas that require immediate action, and with their research, they are able to identify further historical sites that will improve the overall identity of Los Santos.
